Hi

My gosh, I can't believe its been this long. Ive been playing around in face book and twitter and they keep me so busy but I miss this journal and all the wonderful friends I had here too.
Just want to say everything is fine here and hope with everyone too. I have to learn all over how to use this journal. I couldn't get in because i couldn't find my pass word (I have it written down now) :) Now I have to go and check out the rest , hope you are all having a beautiful summer

FIRST DAY OF FALL

I sure hope its a good fall, beautiful and warm. Summer wasn't very warm, in fact we are still waiting for it to get here. I have some plants that didn't even bloom this year and others that grew so tall they looked bad. Not too good. we have been cutting things back early but Im still waiting for the pink hydrangeas to bloom. the plants did get bigger so maybe next year will be a good year. we had such a hard winter last year and so much snow maybe they got scared. lol then we didn't get much rain and had to water a lot and the tomatoes just started to get ripe and now its fall....... Not complaining just telling what a funny summer we had. can't wait to see what fall will be....

My daughter and her family went to the Packer game Sunday. the above pic is my grandaughter Mindy on the left and grandaughter in law Tammy and then my daughter Shari in the yellow shirt. sure looks like they had a great time doesn't it

Ive been in Facebook a lot lately and spending time playing games and seeing what my family and friends are doing from there. I also was checking up to see what twitter is all about too. Ive been having fun. and then I get sent to utube and see videos and hear music from my favorite singers.... right now I love Adam Lamberts music so have been listening to that and watching the videos. his record should be coming out soon.
Ive been reading too of coarse but the last 3 books wereen't that good so Ive been reading slow. seems I fall asleep before I get more than a few pages read lately. should start reading earlier. usually read on the porch in the summer but this summer was not the way I enjoy reading on the porch and now its going to be getting too cold for that already... i do have some books in my stack to read so I should get back into the groove soon.

We all have been good and hope you all are tooo. can't wait to start reading all your blogs again

my Grandson Tyler married his long time friend in Jamica a week ago. I didn't go because I don't fly but they had a nice reception Sat night and I did go to that and they took back a lot of pictures and videos for me.... what a nice time they had too.

Ive been learning all about facebook and have been on there lately, and having fun building a farm and playing zoo, lol

We are all fine and I sure hope you all are too

I just found out about this when a lady called in to QVC when Dr Dyer was on with his new book. she was this boys mother and she said he was making a web site etc and he asked her what was the name of the site and I happened to be lestening... I too hope to see more of his sunsets. Maybe being on summer vacation now he will have more time

I've been working in my yard now off and on and we have finally gotten our summer this week. I planted some flowers and some tomatoes in my tomato cage or whatever its called. Im sure I will be adding pictures if the plants grow... My hand hurts again so its hard to type.... so I hunt and peck :( Hope you are all enjoying your summer

Spring

This is a picture I took a couple of weeks ago but didn't enter because of my hand hurting when I type. I have a lot more in bloom now and even the tulips are finished. It still hurts my right hand ring finger to type but I figure now maybe I just need to use it a bit and it will come back. It is rather stiff when I type so it takes me longer . At least I'm not in that pain anymore.

We went to the 2 cemetarys of my Grandparents today to put flowers on their graves. I don't do my parents anymore because my youngest sister wants to do that now. She does a great job too.

I got a couple of plants for my planters today too but didn't spend much time outside. Its nice and sunny but a bit windy and cool so I stayed in to watch the would be race... it rained at the track so the race wasn't very good, it stopped 3 times because of the rain and then it finished just after half over and a guy that never won a race before won.... he was Happy so someone had a nice day..... :)

GOOD FRIDAY

THE SNOW, IS FINALLY ALL MELTED

We didn't get any more snow like they predicted and the snow we had in piles around our yard are finally all melted. A sure sign of Spring so I got my porch planters out and in place ready to plant some flowers.... yipee. It felt so good to get out and just get the 4 porch pots ready. i need a bit more dirt in them but otherwise they are ready to go.... More little flowers are blooming too and the couple in back of me are cleaning up their yard too. we did most of what they are doing last fall so Leo is fishing. He went with Rick since he is not working yet so they should have a good time and let me alone to do whatever I please with no one to give me their thoughts about what I'm doing.... hehe He doesn't always like the pots on the porch but I do.... didn't put them there last year so its my turn this year, hahaha. thats what he gets for leaving me alone, right?

FLOWERS ARE STARTING TO BLOOM

Even if the flowers are starting to bloom we are supposed to get up to 6 inches of snow again.... it will melt soon though so we don't really care. its good for the grass etc. :) there are a lot of people going for walks again now the weather is getting better. Its been a long winter and everyone is anxious I think.
My hand still hurts when I type, maybe its just artheritis now..... after all Iam 72.. :( Ive been rubbing a cream on it and then it feels better for awhile.
After the new snow melts I will take some pictures of my flowers..... I don't think the snow will bother them too much yet as they are just starting to bloom.

they said on cnn today there is a virus that is supposed to hit computers tomorrow, april 1.... no joke. So I will be off my computer tomorrow.... said they will try to get your personal id...

There were a lot of Cedar waxwings on the tree today.... so I put in 2 pictures and I found out you can click on the pictures to make them bigger too.... The Robins usually eat them too. they must be tasty after a long winter

Cedar Waxwings

The cedar waxwings were eating the berries on the tree today. They sure are beautiful birds. It's a very cloudy day today but the birds still are pretty. I don't know if you can tell but they have a tail tipped in yellow and wings tipped in red.... so pretty. I had to take the picture through the window in my kitchen...I wonder if this can be clicked on to make it larger.... I wish

Our snow is almost gone now and soon I will be able to get some pictures of my daffodils and some other flowers too. Hope you are enjoying spring too

SPRING IS FINALLY HERE
Happy happy days are here again.... lol
I am having a hard time with this because someone at church shook my hand so hard I can't type with it without it hurting so I have to hunt and peck this entry.... I hope it gets better soon because its 2 weeks already and it still hurts.... wonder what the guy was thinking......
anyway its a beautiful sunny day today and I got out a bit to take some leaves off some little bushes in front. I just planted them last year and it looks like all but one are doing very well. If the one doesnt come back I can always plant a new one.... I can hardly wait for the greening up of the yard.

Beautiful Sunny Day

Even this small vase of dandelions looks good to me at this point..... My grandaughter brought them to me a couple of years ago. I just couldn't bring myself to post another snow picture.

I got out of the house today and did a little shopping. It felt good and my winter coat seems too warm now. Anxious to get it put away for the season. I bought a new lamp shade and a rolling rack to put my winter coats etc on and store it in the basement. This way I will have more room in my coat closet and nothing will get wrinkled.... I spent awhile just walking around in the store checking everythig out. It was my exercise for today and it felt good ...... I have to get into shape for gardening and this is a first step. LOL

Don't you just hate all those scammers taking peoples money? I'm glad he didn't take mine because then I would be about where Iam now anyway but without the things I spent my money on..... I really feel bad about the people that thought they were putting their money in a rather safe place, Im sure they never expected to lose it all. Actually I can't believe how so many people got caught.... You wonder don't you?

More snow again

We got more snow yesterday. it seems as soon as it melts enough to see the grass we get another 6 or 7 inches to make up for it. This time I think it will melt faster though because its already melting. Yesterday at Mass the children making their first Communion helped their Mom bake bread to be handed out to people of their choice in the pews..... A very nice boy looked at me from the front and came all around to hand me a beautiful loaf of Pumpkin bread.... then after they wanted to take a picture of My husband and I and their 2 boys. and then they talked to us for a bit. What a nice young man he was and the bread is very good too.

My grandson went fishing and his girlfriend sent me this picture....... and guess what he did next.... he had his hands full so he told her to reach in his pocket to get the tape measure and she pulled out a box and he proposed to her and in the box was the engagement ring..... she said they are getting married next summer.

Not much else to say... my favorite race car driver came in second again ..... didn't win so far this year but he is in first place anyway.

New Kitchen lights

We got some new lights for the kitchen when we went shopping Sunday and Leo put them up today. I was a helper.... I didn't do much but when he yelled or something I was right there to cheer him on and on and on and on. the one over the table went in better than the other one and we thought it would be the other way around. I love the new look. we have been here 32 years and the lights were the original so we upgraded a bit...You know what is so funny though.. these 3 have a total of 300 watts the same as our other one had but the only difference is these are 3 -100 's and the other was 5- 60's and this one seems so much brighter. Isn't that strange? we have a dimmer switch so we won't have it full on unless we are reading or doing something where we need the light. Now I want new lights in the halls too..... do you think I should wait or get them now while he is in the mood.

More Snow

So we have about 6 new inches of snow again..... the sun is shinning now so it will probably start to melt.... to bad the temp is only 7* thought, huh?

Not much happening around here, My son hasn't found a job yet but the son living here is working more than he wants..... go figure. Things will only get better I hope. So many people out of work and no jobs to be had. hope that improves soon.
Things are the same here...... Ive been reading a lot and doing the housework when the mood strikes, LOL otherwise nothing new. I enjoy reading all the blogs and hear what everyone else is doing though and love looking at the picture ones from places I have never been. What a treat they are! I ordered a few plants for summer...............because.............. I know its coming. :) I finally found the Sweet peas my mother used to have... they are perennial ones and climbers. so pretty too and are supposed to smell wonderful and you can pick them and bring in the house and they will keep getting flowers, the more you pick the more you get. Can't wait. So now Im going to go and read some journals and then get some work done. hope your having a good day

Winter is Back

So now we are expecting another big snow storm..... I knew it was too good to last. A lot of our snow has melted and now we are getting a nice clean new supply.... Lucky us :) I have a lot of books to read and a nice big pot of chicken veggie soup.
I went to the garden center to look for some nice big pots for the patio but they didn't have the blue ones blue ones I wanted.... guess spring isn't here after all. It was so good while it lasted though and maybe it won't last too long, after all the days are getting longer and the sun is getting warmer..... I can wait. Lent starts next Wednesday and Easter is just around the corner...... better days are on the way. I love Easter don't you? No presents to buy and still a get together with the family. Pretty Spring clothes and flowers poping up too....... I can look forward to that. They say you must have something to look forward to to have a good mental attitude or something like that.
I'm watching House for the first time tonight.... had to see what others find so interesting..... sure picked an interesting one to start with.... don't know if I will watch it again though.... seems something like a soap opera and I quit watching those some time ago. lol Of coarse Im not finished watching it yet so maybe but there is only 5 min left.... will it continue again next week I wonder? Is that guy that is sick on every week? Ive seen him on talk shows before and he always seemed strange to me.... Probably why Im still watching it just to figure him out. lol

My Birthday Flowers

I thought I would put a pic of my Birthday flowers in so I would remember them

they are still so beautiful!

Nothing much going on in my life lately but no new is good news for me anyway. Our Son lost his job tuesday... seems he was making too much money so they are going to hire someone at the bottom of the wage scale.... he works for a Ford company... What a hard time to be looking for a job but at least he knows he is not alone and its not because he didn't do his job right either.... and my Daughter and her husband are having problems with their business.... Julie has a good job now but her husband is having a very hard time finding work......they had to refinance their house.... hope that helps but its scary.... I bet everyone reading this also knows someone who is having a hard time right now..... Hope things get better and in the meantime everyone finds a way to have a home and food. When you are in business for yourself I don't think there is any unemployment pay..... at least Rick has that.....

So anyway things will get better...... we hope

Above Freezing and Finally Feb

the weather warmed up a bit..... above freezing for the first time in awhile. Tomorrow is my birthday and with a little luck it will be cloudy and the Groundhog won't see a shadow...... whatever winter is half over and the worst is probably over..... I'm happy
Watching the Super Bowl today and am wondering why Arizona is getting all the bad breaks.... Looks like the Steelers will win but time will tell as its only half time. but that is what it looks like to me so far.

We went to church today and to the store after... I got a couple of books to read while waiting for some to come in the mail so I'm set again..... I stayed up reading until 2 this morning and finished my last book so had to get another one. It was a good book. I love reading a good story don't you?
Gotta go and finish watching the game.... have a good tomorrow
